Meet Money Coach Liz

Meet Liz
Money has always fascinated me — not just the numbers, but the habits, conversations, and decisions behind them.
Over the years I've learned a lot about personal finance. I've also made my share of mistakes.
And like most people, I've had seasons of looking at our finances and asking,
"Are we really doing everything right?"
"What can we be doing better?"
I've been married for 33 years. My husband and I approach money very differently — I tend to be an intentional spender, while he naturally leans toward saving. Early on, that felt like tension. Over time, we learned it's actually one of our greatest strengths. His saving has shaped where we are today. My intentional spending has shaped what the journey has looked like along the way.
One moment that really crystallized this for me was 2008. The stock market took a deep dive and we watched our retirement savings drop significantly. I knew the advice: stay the course, don't panic, the market will recover. But knowing that didn't stop the questions.
At the time, Suze Orman had a segment on her show called "How Am I Doing?" — where she reviewed real people's finances on national television.
So I did something bold: I applied.
A month later, I got a call.
A few months after that, we were on the show.
The experience reassured us that we were on the right track. But it also reminded me of something I now hear from clients constantly: even people who are doing many things right still wonder if they could be doing better.
We work hard for our money. It's natural to ask —
Are we saving enough?
Are we making the right decisions for our family?
Are we actually enjoying life along the way?
Now our two kids are in their 20s, and one of the things I'm most proud of is watching how they approach money in their own lives.
What we model matters.
The conversations we have matter.
The habits we build matter — not just for today, but for the legacy we leave.
Those experiences — the questions, the learning, the sometimes hard conversations — are what led me to become a financial coach.
Because money isn't just about numbers. It's about the life you want to create.
And I'd love to help you create it.
